Ranks and medals
 

I've read the Community Manual, but I want to ask here to make sure.

1- What effect does rank have on your crew? Does it make them more efficient at their task? Better stamina? Better influence on the crew beneath them for officers?

2- Is there any effect of promotion on losing officers? I don't want to promote them out of my boat now that they're stacked with medals! And do junior crew members get upset somehow about not being promoted despite having 5x the required values?

3- What do the final two medals do? IIRC, the 2nd last boosts crew beneath you while the final removes fatigue?

4- Can you promote enlisted men to officer status? How many ranks per crew type, and what's the highest officer type?

Thanks. Just finished a 3-day, 80K whirlwind cruise and I'm looking to share the wealth! :D

1. By 2 weeks of playing SH (and GWX) I can say that yes it does. More so on officers than petty officers and more so on petty officers than sailors. Better morale, better resilience.

2. Haven't encountered any of these yet, but i have had a petty officers with 300/150 xp and he wasn't unhappy.

3. In my expirience nothing above IC 2nd Class does anything. Might be horribly wrong.

4. Haven't tried that one out yet. would be nice to know.
