Torpedos not reloading?

Hey all, first post for me.

I'm running SH 1.3 - I've been patching as necessary and I had to bump from 1.2 to 1.3 due to widescreen graphical issues. I'm downloading 1.4 as I type this, but I've got a bug in 1.3 that I didn't see earlier so I thought I'd ask about it.

Basically, and simply, my torpedo tubes are not reloading and they used to. Regardless of the crews assigned to the fore/aft rooms and regardless of manual reload or auto, the reloaidng processs oeiginally stuck on 73 on game #1 and now it will not bump beyond 0, no matter what I do.

Is this a known bug? Will 1.4 or a game/system restart this? Is there someway else I can fix the issue? Two games running have had the same issue and it's ... well .. a bit of a killer! One shot tubes are not getting me very far!

i was having a similar issue..
i would check to make sure that you're not a battle stations because if you are your crew is probably too exhausted.

Silent running will also stop your tubes reloading.

Check the auto reloading icon, it must be activated to reload automatically the tubes (but, if you're in silent running mode, its normal that the tubes don't reload).

OMG, that's it! ding ding ding! On these two 'runs' I was experimenting with silent running for the first time (somewhat of a noob here!) and hadn't realized/remembered the downside to this; I sort of 'switched it on' to get past the destroyer screen and never went back out of silent running again.

Thanks guys, that's saved me a whole lot of frustration!
