Chrono and clock
I have tried to install the smaller chrono and clocks to no avail.All of them cause the game to crash.What harm will or would it do to simply delete them? The problem i have with them is they pop up right in the middle of the screen,when you do not want the views interupted.

This will move the chrono back to the upper right corner of the screen and reduce the size. Paste into a text file and save as Mini_Chrono_15.ini - Install usining JTxE - or edit the Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini file yourself with the changes shown. Tested and known to work w/ 100% functionality and no bugs using ver 1.5 Code:
Targetfile=Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini |
Thank you Joe!
That is great! You outta make it into a JSGME enabled mod and post it! I can do it for myself, but many cannot and it would be a great service.:up:

Therefore you have to overwrite the needed files manually, or use JtxE, which is as easy to use as JSGME. Please read this thread with a description how to use JTxE and with mini chrono 1.4. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...highlight=jtxe Here is the needed ini for the minichrono 1.5. http://www.file-upload.net/download-...hrono.ini.html Put the MiniChrono.ini in the Ini_Mods Folder. (Start JTxE once, it create it automatically, or create it manually). |

The mini chrono script that you include in your download is not 1.5 compatible. The one I posted above, is. - The menu_1027_768.ini file in 1.5 swapped useage for two of the addresses from what they had been assigned in version 1.4 as you can see when comparing the files. You might consider adding the above script to your download package so that the option is there to modify the chrono for whatever version of the game people may be using. ie: mini_chrono_14 , mini_chrono_15 , etc. |

It does not matter if the menu_1024_780.ini file has been modified previously or not. JTxE will find the correct line whether it is at line 14 of the file, or line 14,673 of the file. A good idea, and it would appear the tool of choice when moddifying files that may already have other fingerprints on it. :yep: |

Thanks people for the help..I am running windows vista and it will not let me do a damned thing when it comes to mods..I have been able to make some mods work in jsgme but thats all..I want to run RFB with the ship orange marker small clocks and no dashed lines..I have tried to delete the dashed and continous lines while running vista as administrator and all i get is access denied. This happens with all mods except those in jsgme. So thats my situation, its a hell of a nice game but vista really screws things up..

Here is what i get when i try to enable the mod..NO C:\users\Richard\desktop\data\meni_1024_768ini found...Runtime error 9 Subscript out of range..:damn:

Also, you misspelled MENU as MENI, Left out the MENU directory of the path - and finally, don't forget the " . " in the file name before the ini extension. Devil in the details. LOL :rotfl: |
