SH4 at Windows 2000 possible ?
 

hello to U-Boat commanders,
small question: is there any possibility to run SH4 (with patches) under Win2k OS ?
Because I don´t want to keep my WinXP partition clean of games installed...

Well, don't curse me if it doesn't work for you.

But I do run SH4 in Windows 2000 sp 4. I'm only running version 1.3 with respective mods NSM, RSRDC II, and Peto's Extended Depth Charge mod.

I haven't tried 1.4 because that patch bumped up the visual distance to 20 kilometers, and I'm not sure this old machine can handle that.

So no guarantees.......... but there it is.

I've run SH3 + GWX 2.0 as well as SH4 + U-Boot expansion pack + TMO quite happily on W2000 Pro, so you should have no OS-caused problems whatsoever.

No problem. Piece of cake until ctd. Then you'll know for sure.

So many questions I could ask.

1. Rig specs.
2. Programs running in background. ect, ect...

...because at first I red the tip some days before at this forum that you always install the DVD included version of DirectX (9.0c).
