GWX 2.0 crash problem
 

I've installed GWX2 to a virgin install of ShIII 1.4b, it starts great, as soon as I try to launch a career or mission, the program gets to the point of initialising the actual game screen and crashes straight to desktop.

I've got XPSP2 up to date and the drivers for the radeon 9250, any other ideas? I'm spent!

Thanks for the welcome, and no, no error messages at all. Not even the phone home message.

I had the same problem, and it had to do with the movies. Try this: copy the contents of your ubisoft\SHIII\movies folder to desktop, and then delete them from the movies folder, and then start the game. If it loads, then copy the logo file back into the folder, and start the game. If it loads, copy the intro file back into the folder.
If this doesn't help, I don't have any suggestions except the uninstall and reinstall.
Are you sure the MD5's were OK on the download?
And did the game loaded OK after the install of SHIII and 1.4b patch, and before GWX was installed?

Did you delete the SH3 Folder in My Docs before reinstalling?

This folder contains your previous save points and also has campaign data stored within it. It can and frequently does cause issues.;)
