Ormara Convoy
 

Hi guys. I have just started my next patrol and i have to intercept a convoy before it reaches Ormara. Slight problem being Ormara isnt on the map :huh: so i havent got very good bearings on where to start my search for the convoy! little help would be appreciated. No doubt i have missed something but anyhoo!

Google maps puts Ormara in modern day Pakistan. About 150 miles west of modern day Karachi.

another slight problem! its hard to identify what convy is heading for ormara! theres so many of them.

the convoy you need to attack should have a huge red star on it. zoom out of the map if you have not already, the convoy should be marked after a few days at sea.

AND never save while beeing on such a mission. The convoy will never appear or disappear(when the sign is already on the map) when reloading the save game!

:) :cry: After 3 days sailing the convopy hasnt appeared! i went bk to the end of my last patrola nd carried on from there. Should i just sink as much as i can and just dock >?:) :cry:

I got a mission like this one. It was the first mission on a new patrol, Intercept this convoy before it reaches destination X. It never showed. I sailed back and forth along its expected route for over 3 months with no-show. I eventually ran out of torpedoes and RTB. I never got a mission failed warning, and never got a new mission. It just kept telling me to shut up and continue my mission lol!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but Im having the same problem. I followed this advice (no saves) still no convoy after 10 days at sea...

Mission says it will take the convoly 22 days to reach its destination, which means it would arrive on the 25th. I made it to the destination in about 8, kicked around some, wrecked some merchant convoy and a few stray mechants, dodging and engaging constant air harrasment all without saving 10 days out, About 3 or 4 hours of play time for me... no saves... no convoy.

Sorry I HAD to save at that point, I do have other things to do :hmm:

So whats the key to this?

i never did find that convoy :o spent weeks searching lol gave up and just took my anger out on helpess convoys.

Man that is bogus... Here I finally get a mission that makes some sense. You know a feeling like I can actually participate in the war instead of just "go kill stuff". Now I find out its bugged :doh:

Well I still have plenty of munitions left running out of AA amo though but Ill stay on station for another week and see if it pops up.

I had to refit twice for more AA ammo because of the large amounts of planes hounding you in the area. Give it a week, if she doesnt appear then unleash hell on helpless convoy.:up:

At least in my game there are no places to re-fit anywhere near Ormra even the support ships are a good ways off.

Im concearned about sailing off to take on some AA amo and end up missing the convoy comming in.

This being attacked at night by aircraft is new to me :hmm:

Well I puttered about the area for another week. During that time I ran accross an escorted convoy heading more or less for Ormra. I decided to prosecute this convoy.

Well I got into position and rather casual fashon started working into optimum range at periscope depth ahead full :hmm:

Having been lulled into a false sense of security I went in not really paying attention, tv on, phone ringing, pets whining for food, etc. Well of course the next thing I know Im being actively pinged.

Oh crap... take her deep FAST ! But too late the DD's found there mark and depth and oblitherated me in two passes.... Game over.

Since I play DiD (dead is dead) Ill never know if that was the convoy or not. :rock:
