Suggested book to read as you play SH3
Sea War 1939 - 1945 by Janusz Piekalkiewicz, translated from German by Peter Spurgeon (Hardcover - 1987 - Blanford Press - ISBN is 091867817X - 353pp)
This book was originally written in German and published in 1980 as Seekrieg 1939 - 1945. Written in chronological order, it gives an almost day-by-day account of the most important aspects, events, statistics and pictures of the sea war in Europe; Atlantic, Artic, Baltic, Indian and Med. You can read along on a daily basis, finding out the most important events and statistics that are happening as you play SH3. Having read many U-boat, Kriegsmarine and Battle of the Atlantic books, this is the only book I know of that is written in a format that makes it easily read on a day-by-day basis while you play the game. Hope this is helpful. |
Could be a bargain at £8 from here: http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...lies/read2.gif

Sounds good but have to finish Brag's book first. Slow reading with ship sighted disturbing me all the time.

I have Brag's book, but I haven't found time to start it yet. Hopefully I will be able to start it in a few days. Amazon has this for $7.84 so I went and ordered it.

i have not been playing for a while because i'm reading the awesome...
Albert Speer: His Battle With The Truth. by Gitta Sereny. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Albert-Speer-His-Battle-Truth/dp/0330346970/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206991978&sr=1-1 i've stopped playing to allow this monster tome room. there just isnt enough time in the day to do both - it demanded my full attention and i willingly gave it, i'm nearly at the end - of the book and the 3rd Reich !! AWESOME !! but you may have to put into port for a while - the image of Donitz and Raeder stripped naked and body searched with Speer in Spandau Prison....... if you go for it i recommend the hardback edition. |
