It's finally out on DVD. :up: It looks like an interesting move. The battle scenes are on youtube.

Before you say it's out. You didn't happen to read the Availability: Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

For some odd reason, the title is not listed? Japanese Drama Movie???
It's Otoko-tachi no Yamato.

Last I had heard It would be 2009, at the earliest, that the movie would be released in America. This is due to licensing contracts, which that year.

I managed to get a subtitled version recently and was not very impressed, the story doesn't hang together very well, the acting in a lot of areas was pretty poor, like the Japanese films of old (where everyone shouts all the time). The film had obviously been inspired by "Titanic". The effects were definitely a mixed bag.

Overall I'd rate it at about 56%. It's certainally not a "Das Boot" like masterpiece. A film to watch once or rent but not really good enough for repeated viewing.
