Odd happening with System Shock 2 and Java IDE's

Whenever I use Java Eclipse or NetBeans and then try and run SS2 it says I don't have enough free disk space ie: "You have 22M of free disk space. Shock 2 requires 35M. Shock 2 cannot run".
Tried rebooting but it doesn't change anything and the only way I have been able to get it going again is to uninstall then reinstall the game.
Any ideas?

Cant you just solve it by not using Java Eclipse or NetBeans and then trying and run SS2?

Great game by the way!
Have you got the mods?

After I reinstall SS2 is good to go until I use one of the IDE's. I use the IDE's so the only choice is play or not to play but I would rather use both.

Could it be this error? SS2 is saying it cannot play, because I do not have enough space, even if I have a lot of free disk space: how do I fix this? Add another 40MB or so of data to your harddisk, it will solve the problem. This problem happens because of the way SS2 checks for free disk space. The part that does the checking is left over from when the HD size limit was 2GB, so it only sees the first 2GB with any free space on it; when this problem happens, the 2GB it sees has less than 35MB on it. Adding data to the HD will get around this. Alternatively, you can open the file user.cfg found in the SS2 directory and add the line skip_starting_checks to it and save it. Please note, it may be necessary to create this file. http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60930#hdd

Yeah, it's pretty good.

I use different configs on exchangeable harddiscs: one for gaming, one for work, one for experimentation. Together with drive images this is invaluable.
