Ever just lose a rudder?

This is a new one on me. Playing TMO/RSRD for 1.5, I was depthcharged following an unsuccessful attack on a convoy and suddenly noticed a curiously inability to travel in anything other than a straight line. I go to external camera and lo behold, USS S-40 is missing her rudder!

The odd thing is I received no damage reports and I didn't think the depthcharges were terribly close.

The Japs didn't have much of a problem tracking me after that, yet gave up after a few hours. To add insult to injury, when I surfaced I was hit with the CO2 bug...

Yeah...missing rudder. I had that one happen to me as well. For me it was like the Bismarck. A bomb from a Japanese plane knocked it out just as I was on the verge of leaving enemy airspace. Except instead of turning in circles like the Bismarck I was stuck sailing in a straight fixed line. A straight line leading nowhere. I eventually ran out of fuel somewhere north of Midway. :nope:

The thing that makes this worse is that if you were lucky enough to evade the Japs, you, in real life, would have been able to steer yourself home using your props to steer the ship.

Yes... but diferential power is not modelled in the game, may be the best way is to make rudders undestructibles and thats all...
