[REL] Optics 2 for 1.5
Hello. This little mod improves the view when using the periscope. The perescope lense is enlarged and the data input devices are downsized. Zoomlevels were adjusted to avoid contortion. All periscopes are supported, for U-Boats and Fleet-Boats as well. There are two Versions. TM and Stock. If you want to use the mod together with Triger Maru use "Optics2 over TM". If you want it with another supermod or stock game use "Optics2 over Stock".
Now you can actualy see the masts ;-). Enjoy! daylight: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/2679/mop27ee1.jpg night: http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6594/mop28jy4.jpg DOWNLOAD (2,34MB): http://files.filefront.com/Optics2zi.../fileinfo.html |
Wooho
|
Nice!
What lines did you edit in the INI file? |
Quote:
The entire G26 and G2B section actualy. If you want to combine it with something just copy paste G26 and G2B completely. |
Werner, FANTASTIC WORK MAN! (as per your usual)
|
FINALLY!!
Been waiting for this, Great job Werner!!!
|
Great to have you back Werner! Great Mod!
Is there a version that will work with 1.4, as well.......? |
Quote:
1.5 uses entirely new way how it draws the periscopes. If you try to install it on 1.4 the game will crash. But you can use the previous version of this. MaxOptics is about the same for 1.4. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ight=maxoptics |
Werner, is it posible to get the changed lines??
So it would be easy to enable this mod with JTxE. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...highlight=jtxe |

Ive also added new lines that did not exist. How do you face that? The easiest way to compbine the mod with something else is just to replace all G26 and G2B Items. They are dealing with periscopes. |

I wonder what lines are new in menu_1024_768.ini file? Im asking because the software I use to compare cannot find them, maybe I've missed on the options/settings somewhere, but here's a pic: http://www.imagehosting.com/out.php/..._menuini18.JPG I can see one line commented out in your file thats on the right, stock menu.ini is on the left and shows a grey line where your edited line is. The line in the top on that candy color is just "selected". Yellow letters/numbers are what are actually different. It's a bit fluffy pic but so is mspaint when saving as jpg. :D Differences, there's 18 of them: Code:
[G26 I20] :arrgh!: <--- that is funny lookin'. |

the new lines are besicly comments. If that is not a problem for that tool i can make the mod compatible. PM me the ini file in correct format please. The above changes are correct. |
Werner,
comments line are normally used to show visually what happens or to mark out not used lines. This is nice to memorize for a modder but are not very usable for sh4, because of making bigger the moded files. The idea of JTxE is to give the user the possibility to use a lot of different Mods which used the same files. Instead of writing a menu1024 which combines mod1 and mod2 and mod3 and one for mod2 and mod3 and mod4, it will be helpfull to put the changes in an extra ini-mod and let the people enable it with JTxE. It would be nice if you add to your thread the changed lines. Otherwise people has to use winmerge to find out the differences and this could let them get mistakes. You will help a lot of other users to save time. Thanks and sorry for my bad english. |

Anyway - i have a reason why i left them in. Ive commented the default values for other moders. Ive been often looking at someone elses work and wondered about default values. The lines in my post above are the changed lines for those who need them. I appretiate the idea of JTxE its a usefull tool. As i said if you give me the according ini file ill update the mod so it is compatible. |
Yeah, you can either download it from here,
or you can just copypasta this code and save as ini file, something like "Optics2 inifile for JTxE.ini" or whatever. Here's the code: Code:
Targetfile=Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini I suppose my copypasta from the original menu.ini worked. :arrgh!: |
