water rendering distance?...
How far is the water being renderer? because on heavy seas while looking through the binos I can see the sea is plain flat and the transition is just horrible. I thought that 1.4 introduced a 20km visibility and rendered EVERYTHING in between, or perhaps not?

Rendering all the waves out to that distance would probably kill our frame rates... I wouldn't be surprised if the dev's set up Level Of Detail (LOD) system on the waves, so past a certain point, only a portion of the waves are drawn... past another point, the waves are simplified further, etc.
