and you think Bernard is bad!
If you find an officer aboard your boat named Werner Nobis or are contemplating :hmm: taking him on from your home base get rid of him and/or put him in shackels!
He is currently aboard U-69 in shackles under suspicion of being a sabateur. We had a contact at 125 miles distance heading West at slow speed and had Werner plot our course for intercept. We altered course and thought all was ok.:yep: 7hrs 40 minutes later we dove for sound check at a range we should have made contact, nothing.:damn: We surfaced and travelled another 48 minutes did another sound check, still nothing.:nope: Gerhard Pahling commander of U-69 then checked the navigation charts and found Mr. Nobis had not accounted for the 30 minutes start the contact had before we received the report and compounded on this was the fact that his calcalutions were also out by 10 km.:stare: Gehard then made an adjustment course and speed that would put us approximately where the contact is going to be.:ahoy: However, all charts for this interception mysteriously went missing a short time after,:o making interception impossible.:damn:
So we are now 137 km out of our way and have unnecessarily used a portion of our reserve fuel. We are halfway through our patrol with only 13K+ tons of shipping sunk and needed that ship, as we just went through a bad storm lasting 5 days.
So keep your eyes peeled for this man Werner Nobis!!:arrgh!:
