Changing range of Walther Turbine in TypeXVIII?
 

Hello,

is it possible to change the range of the Walther Turbine or to set the supply of H2O2 to unlimited?

I know it is unrealistic...it is just for fun.

You need Skwasjer's S3D Editor program.

Once you have this installed, the file you are looking for is:
...Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat18\NSS_UBoat18.sim

Back up this file first!!

Open this file in S3D. On the left side you can find 6: unit_Submarine
then 7: Properties

When you click on 7: Properties then on the right side you can see quite a few editable properties. The one you are specifically looking for is Ranges, then HydroPeroxidPropulsion.

This should be set to miles=202. Click on this item, and on the bottom you can change this number to whatever you like. This range is not absolute, you will get somewhere around this range at the speed listed below. Note that 24 kts is not the max speed of the Walther drive, this just means you get 202 miles at 24 kts; your actual range will vary greatly depending on the speed you travel.

Then at the top save the file with the new value. Might not be a bad idea to now take this revised file and put it into JSGME, and then restore your original file.
