I guess SH3 + GWX2 is pretty realistic

It is late 1943 and life sucks.

31st patrol of the U-52 (VIIc) and all I seem to do is surface, detect radar, dive, repair damage from the aircraft. Rinse and repeat.

I am making an average of about 5 knots to my patrol area where I fear there will be no contacts.

Then we have the joyous 5 knot trip back to port. Surface, charge quickly, detect radar, dive, repair.

Why do I even have torpedoes onboard when BDU keeps sending me straight through where the British seem to 24/7 air cover.

If I am lucky all I have to look forward to is a convoy with overwhelming escort coverage.

We will continue to do our duty, even though we feel that our noble cause is lost.

(how am I going to survive another year and a half?)

1943?

Your a ghost, you should be dead by now. Over 30,000 German submariners died in WWII.

By the end of 1943, into 1944 the smart thing to do is.

1. Attach a white flag to your snorkel.

2. Have your life insurance papers in a flotable canister.

3. Continue your game of poker, as there`s nothing else to do, except hold your breath, and sit the war out on the bottom.:D

Seems like what we're all doing late in the war. The lucky ones survive to tell the tale.

If you're doing 5KTS you're doing well. I usually do about 2-3KTS :yep:

The Allies have fully saturated air cover almost everywhere, so no matter where BDU sends you you will be discovered, attacked and face death in the eyes :yep:
