Bernard in crew quarters

Is it my imagination, or do my lazy crew get into their bunks when I put them in crew quarters to repair damage?

With other compartments, the more crew you put into a damaged area the quicker it repairs. The only way I've found to repair crew quarters is through the damage control team who can only fix one quarter at a time.

Am I missing something, or do they all turn into Bernard in their quarters?

I believe that crewmwmbers in their quarters are officially resting and "refuse" to join in on any repair activities in those quarters. So you are correct in that only repair crews can do damage control in these quarters. I try to keep this in mind when assigning damage control. If several compartments of the boat are flooding, I often assign the repair team to the crew quarters first, even if these areas are flooding less seriously, because the men on duty elsewhere will be working on the damage in their respective compartments. It's also not a bad idea to clear the crew's quarters during an attack so they can help repair damage elsewhere and don't all get killed if their quarters completely flood.

When going to action stations I clear the crew compartments unless I want some of the crew to be rested.

"MY GOD !! THERE'S A FIVE FOOT DIAMETER HOLE IN THE WALL IN HERE !!"
"DAMAGE CONTROL !! GET TO WORK !!!"
"WE'RE SWIMMING IN HERE SIR !!!"
"GET THAT FLOODING UNDER CONTROL !!!!"
"MOVE !! MOVE MOVE !!!
"Uh... could you guys keep it down ? I'm on rest break for pete's sake !"

You can find Bernard in the aft tube. Listen and if you hear snoring FIRE. It doesn't matter what it's aimed at. It will be a dud...

And a waste of a perfectly good dud, since the next time you turn around he'll be there again...:dead:

Damn unions again.

Sorry about the damage but I am on my union mandated break :)

If you suffer damage to a crew compartment your crew (by that I mean those of them resting in said compartment) WILL/DO carry out repairs, but not as quickly or efficiently as a pre-designated damage control party. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

If they are carrying out repairs, why does the grey symbol not show the amount of time until the repairs are complete as it does when you designate a damage control party?

Can't say for sure, but it's probably hard coded in the game engine http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/181...kbigsw1yo4.gif
