Looks promising but the forum is pretty much empty....

I think the Italian DWX is available for download in the download section. Question is how to register I can't seem to be able to register. Somebody who understands Italian pls help LOL.

You must register in order to download the mod however you must carefully pick that you're born before 1995 so that you are declaring yourself as an adult.

Iscriviti is for registering, choose Prima del 03 mar 1995 (adult)

I made the silly mistake of declaring myself a minor :damn: and now I have to send them facsimile or regular mail containing my parent's consent. I tried to send them email telling that I made the mistake of declaring myself a minor because I didn't quite understand Italian. So far there has been no reply sent back to me.

Is it possible to download the mod then host it somewhere like filefront?

I wouldn't do that if I were you. ;)
There is no secret, they just want the mod (that they developed) be hosted on their forum. If the mod is being hosted on the web against their wishes they may even take it back and not make available any more updates. The mod is not ready for prime time, its an alfa almost beta status and it definitely is not compatible with lwami. But they have nice 3d models (I wish those were included in lwami mod though :p ).

Am I imagining it, or is there a playable Typhoon in this addon? I see it in the list, and another older thread there that they created a playable Typhoon in '05.

Might be pointless to some, but it would be nice to live out the Ramius fantasy. :)

BTW, did anyone do an extended hull Typhoon? (Playable or not)

Borrow, it would seem. (Forgetting which it is, but the text areas don't accomodate the new weapon names as well) No clue on LWAMI, I have no other mods installed right now. This does install via JGSME, though. I also posted over there offering my congrats, and asking about a new beta (7) posted there as well. I'm going to wait for an english response to that before trying it.

Be forwarned, I learned, rather my enemies learned, what an RSM-52 missile was when it imapcted. Jesus, I never saw so many targets go grey at once. I sure do wish they were able to add a description to the weapons database. I had to use one to find out (CCCP!), and several million paid the price. :o

Well to be honest I'm just interested in its 3D model not playable platforms. Is there a new improved 3D models for surface ships?

The LADA class is a beauty to behold.

The install comes with a pdf that lists some of the new playables, and those look, so far, like new models. I assume those versions also replace the old non-controllable versions.

The new betas there might have more (looks like maybe more weapons). I just don't know italian. :)

New playables? Hmm, I sense this thread getting locked.

And the weapons behavior is also modified mirroring that of LWAMI. The passive sonar detection range has been enhanced.

The broadband sonar is now more potent. I was able to detect contacts at longer ranges than I could in LWAMI.

Of course torpedoes don't explode on CMs.

The Udaloy gets a new 3D too. The new 3D models are simply beautiful. Type 212 and LADA class are among my favorites. Type 209 and Toti are also not bad.

And I also noticed that the underwater physics have somewhat been altered. I tried to change my depth from 47m to 30m instead I went to 26 m before returning to 30m. Also during the depth changing my Akula seems to be gyrating(moving up and down a little bit)

Man the mod made me a very happy man.:rotfl:
I really recommend it to anyone playing DW.

The mod makes me long for an add-on to DW too......

Tell you what----There are at least 3 different versions of "DWX" in the world except USA, as far as I know. The Russian version is the best one among those, as far as I play.
