I'm a little confused by your statement, but if I remember correct, the 20mm and 37mm guns have AP shells only, and the 88mm and 105mm deck guns have HE shells. At least that's the case with GWX. I have no idea about the other mods? Is that what you were asking for?

Just installed GWX, in vanilla the deck gun had AP and HE. If GWX took the AP out I missed that in the docs....sorry.....and this is all dependant on IIRC.

GWX Manual V2.04
Page 50 (63 in the pdf file)
Section Title: U-Boat Gunnery
Line 5

"U-boats follow their historical practice of carrying only high explosive deck gun ammunition instead of the mix of ammunition types found in stock Silent Hunter III."

Which is historical not correct, U-boats also carried incendiary rounds as stated in "The Golden Horseshoe", Kretschmer spoke here about setting a ship in flames with incendiary shells.

Interesting! I just came across another source stating the use of incendiary shells.

U-Boat Commander's Handbook
Page 43-44
Section V: The U-Boat as a Gunnery Vessel
Paragraph Number: 275
Sub-Section: C - Procedure
Line 1

"1.) Gun commander and crew take up action stations in good time on the conning tower and the upper deck, in order to get used to the darkness. Precise arrangements are to be made regarding method of covering the target. 10.5 cm are to be fired at the bridge and superstructures, beginning with 10 rounds of incendiary shells, in order to get a good marking point in the resulting fire. 3.7 cm machine gun m34 to be fired at the stern (gun). 2 cm (powerful dazzling effect) should only be fired on orders of the commander, when there is a jam (stoppage) in the 3.7 cm gun."

One U-boat actually sailed with 355 HE shells http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif
