Can't Locate add on
 

this may sound a bit crazy or maybe I have just mis-understood how this add on was to be released.

I can't find it at any retail location at all. I have tried, everywhere in Oklahoma City. Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Comp USA, Game stop, and Game exchange.

Every place tells me the game add on does not exist, so what gives? where did you guys buy yours?? aside from DL. not that I know where that is either.

I've read a couple posts stating that the add-on won't be released in retail stores in North America, or at least the U.S. Can anyone corroborate that?

Well I was off tonight and tommarow the thought was... get off work, go pick it up, load and play... not pay for game, pay shipping and handling, and then wait a while then start the fore mentioned steps (so that when I get it I can't play it untill I get free time).

Not only that if it is not for sell at any retail locations and I do buy from ebay then it would have to be from someone not in the US , so what are the chances of actually getting an english version?? that is compatible with mine. at any rate...

where is everone in the US buying theirs? clearly it is not from any of the normal or major retail outlets, they all checked with their warehouses and no one has even heard of it.

I appreciate that, but as I had indicated I really would like to know where everyone in the US has been buying their copies... because it sure is not the normal retail locations... or any other for that matter... and not everyone has done D2D so... what is the answer?

BTW I did try it and for some reason (that it does not indicate) it will not complete the transaction... (even though I purchase online all the time with the same CC)

I'm fairly sure that the Direct2Drive license says something about not redistributing the files, but if it generates more revenue...? Seein' as the patch requires the key to install, I don't imagine that the patch files are uniquely tied to each download. Why couldn't person #1 and person #2 both purchase the add-on at Direct2Drive, person #1 downloads the patch, then burns it onto a CD to snail mail to person #2?

If the patch files are the same, then there's no difference in the end result. As long as someone doesn't come up with a key generator (for a $10 add-on for a niche sim? Don't bother), and it's not widespread (I'm sure nobody wants to do this large scale), then where's the fuss?

Of course, having the go ahead from someone up top would awful nice, too.

What the hell's going on here? Is D2D available outside US? Nowhere else for the add-on I can find. So, if someone knows where else to get it please tell or I'm gonna give the Devs a piece of my mind! Yeah, mon!:x:yep:

Well I tell ya I sure can't find it anywhere:damn: and no one else seems to be answering this thread... so I guess you just can't purchase this game in the good old USA:huh: , maybe they thought since it was a german add on for a U.S. game we would not want to play it... :nope: Again I ask if anyone in the US has bought the box where did you get it??? and I already know about D2D and Ebay what I want to know about is retail.

But at 30$ It's expensive - being the imported version.

The add-on won't be released as retail copy in the US. So if you want cheap (as in 10$) digital download off Direct2Drive and ubi is the way to go.

I will go the d\l route if I can burn it ti CD.

Is that possible ?

But I will ask it again. Please let the Dev or Neal or Moderator answer this so once and for all we will know for sure.

I burned it to CD with no problem. It's under 650kb. The download is painless and the price is right. Believe me, I scrutinized everything to death (ask Dan) and it's fine. Don't wait!:up:

Yeah, get it I did it just for kicks, I have Comcast and it took about 20 minutes to DL.

What was really funny is that when I installed it the registry pointed it to a directory that no longer existed, where I had previously installed SH4 and moved it to a different folder. Well the installer is so stupid that it went ahead and installed the Addon, and put in the file structure that was missing!

When I saw that I just about fell out of my chair. Sweet, I zipped it and burned it to a DVD. Now I can just drag and drop! No more installer, bye bye!:sunny: Oh, dont forget to save/burn your code number for activation.
