Harbors: Denied of my prizes!!
After carefull planning and waiting forever (even at 1024x) I finally arrive in tanker heaven - Curaco, Port of Spain and San Fernando; only to find that all the ships have already been sunk. Only things left are ASW ships  With 21 torpedo's waiting to 86 some serious tonnage the entire trip turns out to be a total loss.
This' happened in every port that I've gone into recently (Scapa Flow, Firth of Clyde, Firth of Forth, Hartelpool, Bristol, and all the oil field ports). This is still as early as 1940-1941. Is this some kind of bug, or is there some secret on timing when to arrive at the port? Am currently using the stock DD 1.4 version. When using the DVD version didn't seem to have this problem as much as I recall. |
You need to get GWX...........

I seem to remember sunken ships in harbour with stock SH3.

Is this something to do with the 'save' bug where if you save within 50km of a harbour all the ships get confused and run aground. I haven't seen it myself but I think it's been mentioned on these forums.

A lot of the stock ships exhibited a bug where they would get lower in the water the longer you were in rendering range without being in actual visbility range
T3 and PPL were 2 of the worst along with one of the fishing boats But most were affected to some degree The small merc on the other hand never showed the problem So yes if you take time closing in on the port they ( shipping ) will be partially or completely sunk by the time you get to see them |
