Heh, IRL this wouldn't go up anyway, it was forbidden for the Gestapo to arrest Members of the Kriegsmarine. Even the Gestapo had to follow certain rules and although they had a lot of power they couldn't get away with everything.

The official explanation is that it hit a mine. We plant mines, the British plant mines, all God's chillun plant mines. If you can't swim, stay out of the water.

But let's be honest. Aren't they just sooooooo tempting - all bright and shiny and lit up? If you patrol around BF17, quite regularly in 1941 there's a small unescorted convoy of four ships which head SW through the patch - Two merchants and 2 luvverly big tankers. problem is they belong to the Republic of Ireland - Damn it!
