Hello to all

First off,

a Dutch 'hallo' to all, I am new to this forum, although I have been reading here quite a lot. I've been playing SH3 for a while now and just last weekend decided to upgrade to GWX. What a difference already! Harbor's now alive, friendly subs arriving at Wilhelmshaven, more difficulty and reality, really nice. I am very pleased with it and want to thanks the developpers.

But I also have a question... about my SH3 Commander 2.7

I use SH3 Commander 2.7 and I am in my second patrol in my current setup (which is SH3 patched to 1.4b, JSGME, once ran the game, installed SH3Comm., did a roll back, modded GWX2.0, copied the 4 cfg-files to SH3comm. folder) worked like a charm.

Until this evening. The SH3 Commander 'Launch SH3!' button is greyed out.

I have not modded between last night and now. I have not touched any cfg-files or any ini's. I looked around the forum for a solution, I haven't found it (yet).

What am I missing? It should be very obvious, but I can't think of the reason.
(btw: SH3 by itself is starting fine).

You should start a new career after GWX installation. Old (GWX 1.03 or stock) careers do not work. Or did I not understand that correctly on what you did before the problems.

Thanks for all the welcoming!

I may have been unclear.
My installment of SH3, JSGME and SH3 Commander is fresh from the start. (In a 'reasonably clean' WinXP environment). I managed to finish my first patrol, which took me five days of playing (we have two little girls, should I further explain myself  ) doing five saves. Now, during my 2nd patrol, I spotted a convoy in the Straight of Calais, and decided to save.

Last night I tried to startup SH3 as usual, through SH3C and noticed the Launch SH3! button was greyed out.

After my initial installment of the game, the addons and the mods, I haven't changed anything, configuration-wise. Didn't even alter my SH3 Comm ticks that I chose. So, I think I shouldn't need to rollback SH3C.

Even a reboot of my PC didn't solve the greyed out launchbutton. I think SH3C doesn't recognize the SH3 installation for some reason. If I check my SH3C ini-file the location to the SH3 installmant is empty (something in there like 'gamelocation=').
Should I manually add a location and if so, in quotes or not? Wonder why it was losing my game location in the first place?

Thanks for clearing my foggy waters,
TS

Welcome aboard. I agree with all the comments about the fact that it is great to see new members. It's what keeps this forum and GWX great. Not to mention we don't have to buy a new sim every month for SHIII is constantly changing to make it more exciting. Thanks to all of our great modders..

Welcome aboard, Mate
I would play SHIII without CMDR until the end of your patrol. I would roll back CMDR as soon as possible. Set all CMDR options to default and then when you are in port, reinstall CMDR 2.7.
If that doesn't work start a new thread with the title of SH3CMDR probem and you will be buried under by all the help, including JScones who developed the program and gives incredible support.
