Oak Leaves!!
 

At last, and for the first time ever I've recieved the Oak Leaves on my Knights Cross, as well as the German Cross in Gold :D Was a long patrol, I ended up stopping off at Vigo to get extra supplies as i'd used up all my forward firing torps before I even got to my patrol gride near Gibralter.

A welcome gift to return home to getting my Oak Leaves and my German Cross....although the German cross doesn't look as "special" as i was expecting it to :)

What was the achievement you got it for?

I ask because I managed to get it only once in my 5 GWX careers, but still don't know why (it came along with my Knight's Cross). In my second GWX 1.3 career I didn't get it either, in spite I got Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds, so I still don't understand the way it's awarded... Would be good to know.

I got mine for accidently bumping into a convoy! After I disposed of the 5 escorts including one Southhampton class cruiser, I only had enough torps to sink 3 merchies and that was with the deck gun and AA gun in mt VIIC!. I left some ships on fire but I guess they stayed afloat.:smug:

To be honest, I find this one of the most beautifull nazi medals ever made. It's certainly the most complex one to make as it's build out of 8 different pieces. I got my piece (a real one that is :) ) from an old WW2 vetereran who fought on the East-front. It's a nice piece.
