How can i view the sub underwater without...?

Enabling the "Volumetric fog" or the "Ambiental effects", the sub can be observed underwater (transparent water). Enabling that/these option/s i obtain a low perforance (my specs are: P4 3,2 Ghz LGA775, 2Gb RAM DDR400, GF 7600GT), Is it any way to, ONLY, view the sub underwater without enabling these options, maybe editing a file?

You can try disable this "Pacific Enviroments for ROW" in JSGME and go to "SH4/MODS/Pacific Enviroments for ROW/Data/Misc/" and delete these files before enabling the mod:
"waterair.dds", "shafts.dds", "underwater_disp_map.dds" and "turbulence.dds" and enable the mod again, but I would recommend getting a better GFX card to enjoy the eyecandy later ;)

Hm...anything better than the 7600GT will probably be bottle-necked by the CPU. At best, he'll only gain a few FPS. Sirkam my man, we need better computers...I have a slower CPU and graphics card, and less RAM, and the game is marginally playable :damn:

I have the stock SH4 without any mod...

I am not sure if i understand well ... you want to improve the underwater visibility ?

Edit as follow... and you will have a good underwater view of the sub without eanbling those settings.

"Me refiero a ver el submarino por debajo del agua transparente...a ver la sombra negra cuando pones la cámara por encima del submarino cuando está en profundidad de periscopio. ¿Estas líneas activan ese efecto?"

Also, i think the graphic engine of SH4 is not optimiced for performance...

Now i understand... you must to edit WaterOpacity value into scene.dat file, you can use MiniTweaker program from TimeTraveller. I am n a value of 10 and works fine, if i am not wrong, ROW is using 5.

Is it possible that the vanilla seafloor is eating his rate?

Not sure, he can not to expect too much FPS with that computer. Specially if have some graphic enhancements enabled into the drivers control panel and game options, and if have onboard sound card. Onboard sound card "eats" FPS...

Sirkam 02-13-08 06:00 AM

So then, is it impossible to enable this without enable the Vol.Fog?
