Trucking Sims

I know the thought of rumbling down the interstate in 55 tonnes of chrome and steel appeals to some of you, so I thought I might go ahead and post some news about the latest and upcoming trucking games on the PC

Firstly, this is the latest in what's probably the longest running franchise, and one of the only proper 18 wheeler games out there:

Fun game, but really needs the help of a couple of mods (that aren't easy to find) for real immersion.

No idea how close this one is to completion, but it still looks rather good:

I'm just hoping there's nothing stupid in it, like points for blowing up cars.

Will be watching this one very closely if they add Britain in

Here's an online haulage firm for use with the 18 WOS games :)

Finding mods for this kind of game may not be as hard as you think.

http://truckpol.republika.pl/

That site is like the Subsim of truck sims. There is all sorts of info on upcoming releases and a forum. I haven't played a truck sim in a long time, but when I did I went to that site.

To bad it's only a 60 minute demo.

But anything as good as this that I can use my G-25 on works for me.

This sim is to Trucking what flight sims are to flying.:yep:

From a gameplay standpoint it has goals and objectives to accomplish and penaltys to avoid.

And as pointed out theres a slew of mods available.

Not bad for $20.00

I believe that 18 Wheels of Steel was the trucking sim that actually had a few "interesting" surprises in it (Or it may have been another sim).
The UFO flying around when I was driving on a highway in New Mexico caught me completely off guard. :rotfl:
Then there was the random police chase that happend around me somewhere...

I drive an '06 Freightliner XL Classic about 15,000 miles a month and I can tell you, there are stranger things than UFOs out there...

Especially in New Jersey...;)

Think I'll buy 18 Wheels and see how it stacks up to the real thing...

Done a little OTR myself. The best deal is 18 WOS Bundle $29.99.

You get all 4. Separately $80.00. A nice break from Subs and planes.
IMHO it has great gameplay. Objectives , Penaltys, and hell it's fun. :D
