Ok, up on TM 1.7.6 and so far is it is not working
What is wrong with the torpedos ?? With ships dead still at port and a perfect shot they go to the left.
Is this mod only for manual mode torpedo shots only ?? Even with that when it picks up distance it is off double at least. If I am at 1700yds it says 3400yds. Please explain why I want to play with this....???? Is there a description of what the objective was with TM 1.7.6 ?? Everything is ok but the torpedo shooting....Help ?? Regards Jib01    |
I have not used TM. It does sound strange you torps are doing that. Have you tried just the torpedo school? Did you get the same results? I'm guessing you are using auto target.
|
Hmm, TM runs fine here and there are no torpedo problems, apart from the circle runners, deep runners, duds and prematures. :)
You got anything else running apart from TM? Might give us more of a clue. |
As Schultzy said, a list of your mod setup in order would help. I run TM 1.7.6 + RSRDC no problems at all. :hmm:

That thread titles like this are allowed amazes me.

they ARE and they MUST be allowed. there's no dictatorship in here, andeveryone is entitled to have his own opinion, even if it differs grossly from the opinion of the majority. that's not a crime.
and we're also here trying to discuss about this, making him understand he's wrong, or understand we're wrong. that's called debate, and the purpose is to learn about the wrong things and believes, and trying to admit and correct them. well, at least, that's what smart people should do. on topic now, Jib01 seems to NOT know the fact that american torpedoes were vastly faulty before march 1943, causing a lot of duds, deeprunners, circlers and so on, and that this historical behavior is incorporated in TM 1.7.6. that's all. |
I'm running TM with none of the problems he discussed.
No one was getting at him for what he was asking, it was the way the topic was worded. |
You probably have the Spread dial set to like 5-10 degrees to the left.

Hi, Jib01
I also use TM 1.7.6 and i dont think i've ever encountered any very wayward torpedo's, i've had the odd circle runner and believe me they make you sweat! but... the settings (dud, gyro deflection, etc) on the early torps mean you could get upto 50 degrees out maybe this is what is being seen? Jib01 If you could list in full what mods you have installed and what settings you are running + year we may be able to give you the advice you need. PS always check your settings in the ward room before you sail, i've had settings change between the main menu option screens and the option screen in the wardroom this is especially true for manual / auto targetting. (believe that to be a stock problem and not related to any mods). |
Had the same problem.
JB I had the same problem as you earlier this week. I approached a Large old split sitting tied up at dock on the Island of Guam. She was at a dead stop. I approached to 1300yds. with 90 AOB. Fired all three torps and each one of em went wide right. I was beyond my self with rage. Since then I have tried Manual Targeting, which only gives me worse results at he moment. (damn AOB guesstimation). Then and now I use T.M. 1.7.6 +RSRD+ROW. I do not use SCAF as i actually have better results withouy it enabled. Sorry I couldnt help butt it helps to know your not alone.

You sound frustrated, but.....
Jib01 find a more constructive way to ask your question, folks here will help and modders will appreciate it :yep: As one previous poster mentioned, list your mods and we can go from there with this. Thanks. Edit: Saw AVG's post, thanks for changing your thread title. RDP |
:nope:
How about: I have been trying TM 1.7.6 and have a problem with torpedoes missing their target... Learn to appreciate what you have instead of crying for what you can't get. |
I have SH4 Version 1.4 and loaded TM per the instructions. All I have is TM 1.7.6, TM sound, GFX-ROW V5 loaded and that is all. SH4 was a clean install.
Again, I ask, is TM 1.7.6 ONLY a manual system for torpedos ??? Sorry about the title but it was very frustrating because I remember this with the first TM 1.7 having the same problem. Regards Jib01 |
:nope:
Patience, and back to reading the TDC manual properly a couple of times.:hmm: If not faulty eels I guess you forgot to check the input on the TDC. You always see the solution on the left side of the attack peri/UZO. If eel still goes other way it´s just faulty. No problems here with TM whatsoever. The mod is just amazing!!! (The realism bit includes FAULTY TORPEDOS.....   ) Good luck. /OB |
Now the Sonar does not work. Looks like the same problems I saw on the early release. I will remove 1.7.6 until I find out more of what it is supposed to do and what were the objectives of this mod. The ROW and GFX and Sound are fine but other mods are strange. Patrol planes at night ??? Early in the war there were no patrol planes at night and barely during the day...
I'll try again later after i understand what 1.7.6 is.... Thanks again for the work...but it doesn't work for me.... Regards Jib01 BTW there is mention of torpedos not running correctly at depth, and there were duds and pre-exploders but I have not read yet about torpedos going wide. The ones circleling were very few even early on.... |
