[REQ] Assigning a custom name to your sub
 

I tried a search but probably didn't use the right parameters.
With SH3 it was possible to assing your own U-boat number. I was wondering if the same is/could be possible in SH4, in that you could assign a custom name to your sub i.e. USS Crankycrew or USS Cinderblock etc.;)

Has anyone looked at this or is it simply a case of adjusting a line in a .cfg file somewhere?

Ok, will this new name also be reflected in the messages during patrols?

it will be the name of your sub as far as I know the message is
pre written but put in with your player sub as the adressee
so I would assume your all good on that one. but uncertain.

I think it probably does with the approach above, but I know that if you use this approach:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...97&postcount=6

it will use your new/custom name in all of the messages you get during your patrol.
