uberboot 1.4B + GWX 2.0 = NO go
For the last 2 weeks + I have been trying to get this combo to work. I do not know if it my computer or not but I can NOT get these two to work together. A couple of weeks ago I decided to update my game profile to see what was new. I had been using the previous uberboot Beta & GWX 1.03 which was working just fine, but thought that newer SHOULD be better. :nope: After updating both programs I could not get the uber to work. If I started a new career with the 2nd flt (to make the type IXb available) I could get the boat with the correct gun suite. But it wold NOT give the added crew or the proper torp LO. Not to mention the cut rate price tag.
Upon trying to play the game anyway, with or without the uber mod activated, it would freeze @ the load screen when it said "not so long ago". This was discused in a previous thread. FINALLY @ about 4:00 AM this morn. I discovered that the two updates where not compatable (on my system). I can run uber on a vanilla shiii with 1.04 patch w/wo commander 2.7 but if I added GWX 2.0, w/wo commander, I would lose the uber again. I have NOT tryed updating one but not the other, either way, as I decided to go to bed instead. :yep: Has anyone else had any of this experience ? I would like to have both the uberboot & GWX without UNupdating. I now have one career w/uber & one w/GWX. Can I not have BOTH - TOGETHER ?.? :damn: |
I noticed that Mush posted on his thread that with GWX 2.0 that there would be no guarantees with Uber.

There are both 1.4b and GWX2 versions in download. |
1. Thank you VERY much for your assist, RDP
2. SVK - do you have more info, specs, pics, demo, etc. ? Will it have compatability problems if files are near uberboot,is it JSGME compatable ? |
Yeah Uber has not been updated for use in GWX2.0 at the moment
I am trying to go back to betas on the uber2.0 and get it working for someone who is going to at least keep an eye on the project if not advance it a little further. sorry dude M |

Will it have compatability problems if files are near uberboot,is it JSGME compatable ? Yes it is JSGME compatable. Have played it with gwx2 no problems. I think it is less complicated than uber. only IXB hull and VIIC/4 sturm. + some menuwork. What you see in my signature is all. |

you gotta understand how the game mechanics work...
One mod will add/replace on file in your game, important files life .cfg files may cause ctd, so you dont JUST add them... you have to open them and check what do they do... one mod changes something in one file, the other does it too, but with another part of the file, and so on... so you can just see what one does and what another does and make a hybrid of that yourself, take one part you like from one and add to another, and edit the values to your like. Sometimes if you cant open the file, just choose between one file or another, depending on what you want. Certain mods dont work well if you remove certain files, other work just fine, so you must keep a sharp eye for that... Lets supose one mod modified the files A, B, C, D and E, and another mod modifies the files B and D. You choose which ones you think is better for the gameplay you want, and add one mod into another and just put it all together into JSGME and there you go... Its complicated? VERY! To enable all those mods to work properly I've spent about 15 hours editing files... Any question PM me! |
