No Radar Placement?
 

I had moved my deck gun forward but when in office I could not install the surface radar although I had plenty points. Is having the deck gun forward caused this?

Haven't come across this one.
 

Not an answer to your query but the 'points' system is, as it was in SH3, a royal pain in the butt and IMHO completely unrealistic. If the kit's available at a given time then you should have the option to install it regardless of 'renown". NYGM in SH3 got rid of the renown limitation so I hope one of the modders here can do the same thing (I'm surprised it hasn't been done already).
Is there a .cfg file tweak that exists that either gets rid of renown or stacks it so that 'cost' is not an issue anymore?

Did you see the radar on the left side and could'nt install or
was the radar not in the options?

I experienced some glitches there.
Sometimes i didn't see the SJ or the SJ-1 or some flak.
I saved the game in port, quit SH4, reloaded the save
and now all things were avaiable. (it was still the same date, no modding)

The radar was available on the left column. I made the switch with the deck guns then tried to get the radar- got the message that the radar was not available for the boat- so, then why have it available?

I get that message if certain equipment is already installed on the boat and I try to select it from the list on the left.

Aw man, if there's no room for a radar there, where the heck am I gonna put this microwave I just brought aboard? My coffee gets cold too quickly when I'm on night watch. :(

A more pressing question is...where are you going to plug it in? Hmmm?:lol:

I installed 4" forward and took her (Gato) on successful patrol. Returned and was offered a Balao which I took - told " radar upgrade won't fit this boat". I've had no radar since. In fact, I checked all the Quick patrols and Sub school for Radar attack - no SJ on ANY of the boats. I had radar before I installed patch 1.2 - should I try re-install??:damn:
