Farewell to the cruel miserable Atlantic!
Not had a Monsun career yet? ... then your missing out!
Started a proper carreer out of Penyang, its THE place to be for Uboat Kaluen in 1944. So far im experiencing: a) Very little air-cover compared to the umbrella of death over occupied europe. b) Lightly escorted convoys c) a distinct lack of Hunter killer groups. My first convoy encounter consisted of 8 merchants, two of which were Liners, and the rest were large merchants or frieghters, best of all ONLY TWO ESCORTS which both received a Falke up their ass, leaving me with a turkey shoot on my hands W00T! So if your operating out of a French base or Bergen in 44, its time get a transfer to the south east, enjoy the tonnage and the sunshine, its like Happy times part II! ....Just dont forget to enable the indian ocean campain files in JSGME first or else you will be very, very lonely! :arrgh!: :arrgh!: |
Good hunting. I'll try it when my time comes. I am still at the end of 1940
|
Hmm........:hmm: might go back to Penang in my next career, as my cureent one isn't going too well for Herr Buder:nope: .
|
Patrolling in the Far East is a true experience. You have to be prepared though for long patrols and cover large distances without seeing anything but the empty sea for weeks. in other words it ROCKS :yep:
|
way to go dude... If KptLt. Lehmann gets wind of this post GWX 2.1 will be an absolute nightmare in the pacific.
:nope: |
One would imagine that historical accuracy would keep Kpt.Lt. Lehman from messing up our new vacation spot too badly. ;)
Given that I completed a 1940-1945 career in Type VIIs in the Atlantic, even operating up next to the UK coast (I strongly recommend against this. I don't know what I was thinking. Well, I know I *wasn't* thinking), a Monsun tour might be just what Herr Doktor ordered. |
Could a type XXI make it to Penang in GWX 2.0?
|
go up the persian gulf? youll probably recieve messages from the iranians saying "I AM COMING AT YOU, YOU WILL EXPLODE MOMENTARILY!":rotfl:

I can't wait for Europe to become the "Umbrella of Death" !! I just hope my IXB has better batteries available by then. The batteries in that thing stink. If you want ANY amount of time underwater in that, you have to go like 2-3 knots and even that sucks battery like mad. I love the small arsenal of torpedoes though ! |
agreed mate, the only thing i wish is that you could fit all them torps into a VIIC... ohwell ive gotten down to 300m in my XIB and only to 290 in my VIIC so i guess i shouldnt bitch about it.
the VIIC is like the spitfire of the ocean, it kills and looks good whilst doin it. |
Sounds good
hi, how do you enable the files for the indian ocean, and will they work with stock sh3. please pm me as this sounds like a fun place to go after the air attacks of the atlanitc evey five minutes. cheers.
|
You cannot use these files with stock SH3. You need GWX (possibly NYGM but I am not 100% sure about that) for them and you can enable them via JSGME that comes with the game. Just enable the Indian Ocean Campaign and you're sorted.

The Indian Ocean campaign is installed via JSGME (supplied with GWX) or just enable the Merged campaign file, that includes the Baltic and the Med as well :arrgh!: |
