Carrier armor (still) too thin?

I've found that at least the Taiho and Shinano can be sunk with a single torp amidships- I searched on this and saw that others have reported the same thing, but can't find any indication this has been addressed...is there a mod or a code fix for this? As a rule, I always fire 3 fish spaced bow to stern for the sake of "Realism"- no skipper in his right mind would think of firing less- but even this seems a bit "cheating"...I'm betting a valuable target like this would warrant a full bow salvo (unless it was a long-range "desperation" shot).

Any suggestions to fix this?

They should be tough to sink. Does NSM handle that?

That's hopeful! What mods are you using?

I'm using RSRD (just upgraded to v300) and several graphics mods. I've hit the Shinano and two Taihos, and in each case the first torp resulted in the enemy destroyed message.

I always aim my first torpedo right under the stack, or just forward of it; whether the game models this or not, the location should correspond to the engine room- a hit here results in massive flooding (it's a HUGE space) and can often detonate the boilers which will tear the ship apart (see Dick O'Kane's autobio where he describes setting his shots to accomplish this).

Most of the time when I aim right, it takes one hit regardless of the ship- but carriers should be different, right? Haven't tried this on anything bigger than a DD to see if it's unique to carriers.
