Hi all! Just ordered SH4.
 

I ordered my sh4 today, i also own sh3. :up:

This is my first post on this forum, just wanted to say hello to all !



What mods i should install first? any must have?

Triger Maru and Row ?

Welcome aboard. I recommend you play the game straight out of the box with 1.4 patch. Get a feel for that and then see what you would like to change.

welcome aboard! I'd agree with AVG, but once you're ready, I'd recommend TM, ROW, and the Run Silent Run Deep mod. All three really bring out the best in SH4. There are many other mods that I can't speak to, but regardless, enjoy the game, and welcome to subsim!

I have to agree with this. Run the game for a while with no mods.

Why ? Two reasons, firstly you can see what you do and dont like and want to change, secondly and more importantly you can be sure you have a stable installation so if it starts acting up after a mod install you know what did it.

Best install path is to
1. Defrag your drive
2. Clean the registry
3. Reboot then install the game
4. Reboot again then install the patch 1.4
5. Reboot again and (finally) enjoy the game.
6. Come back to these forums and tell us about your experiences.

Welcome aboard as well. As was said before, play stock a little to get a feel for it. But when your ready it's an awesome time for mods. Personnaly I use ROW, TM, Run silent run deep, and NSM 4.0 (released just this morning).

My advice for your first patrol?

Leave the external camera on and soak up the eye candy:up:

Once you've had your fill you can turn it off.
