Just for fun, Ju88s Biscay challenge - YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIIIIVE!!!!
This a just for funb competition lets see who can kill the most aircraft while exiting Biscay in 44 - before getting snuffed.
Not realisic - its just a bit of fun! 1) Start a new Career up out of any of the French bases in 44, travel out of the bay engage and destroy as many planes as you can, see how long you can survive the on slaught. 2) Any realism setting allowed, you can can man the flak or let the Ai handle it, you can also crash dive to avoid certin types of plane if you think it will pro-long your existance..... My top score is 6! Post your patrol log and pics! Good luck http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2010.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_1950.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...2-2007_209.jpg My fate http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2014.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2015.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2016.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2018.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2019.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...-2007_2020.jpg |
This sounds fun, as long as I don't run in to HK's operating in the bay. ;)
Give it a bash over the weekend. :) |
I'm right in saying this is GWX, not stock, as it would turn into a turkey shot otherwise!

Might just try that, this weekend. Just hop I don't run into any Mosquitoes (with rockests), or im toast in seconds.
(Im guessing this is done with no escort of any type - i.e. U-flak?) |

A quick picture of my eventual demise. Just as I thought... so far, so good. It was a big bug with a Lee-light. Direct hit :rotfl: I used a VIIC, two twin flaks and a vierling. Full speed, some zigzags and didn't dive. 06 Apr 1944 0249 Patrol 1 U-96, 7th/13th Flotilla Left at: April 6, 1944, 02:49 From: St. Nazaire Mission Orders: Patrol grid AM12 1036 BF 55 Aircraft destroyed! Excellent  look like you were sunk by a sunderland, It might be woth editing the reknown config to buy a uflak, I just used an IXD2 and managed ok, luck i guess.
|
IXD2's are a big easy target for aircraft, you'd be just as well off with a IXC/40, slightly smaller, just as fast though, and quicker diving time.
By the by, Im going to take your challenge JU! :D |
Cool penny, looking forward to it.
I find that the most effective air attacks are when the aircrafts flight path runs along the length of the Uboat, (aligned vertically) - this happens when the plane approaches from your front or rear and there is less room for him to miss, (this is how i got blasted by that wellington in the screen shots) So its best to make a hard port or starboard to make the uboat a slimmer target for the planes bombing run, you have much less chance of being hit when attacked side on by an aircraft. Also the aircraft is best attacked when making its drive/ bombing run, as you can almost fire directly at it, rather than having to shoot in front of it. |

This could be fun
Setting up a test career in 44 http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif |
I got a big fat ZERO!
They got me first hit.....ARGHHH!!!!!:arrgh!: |
I got one then bumped into a convoy
That took priority Managed to take out all 6 mercs then sank by flooding Round 2 |
I got 4 then I ran out of ammo....
2 Catalinas 1 Sunderland 1 Wellington that soaked up so much punishment before going down that I had only a few rounds of AP left No bomb hits, but the boat was down to 50% HI from lots and lots of strafing 1 casualty |
2 Sunderlands, but damage from cannon fire was so bad I lost the boat going to PD
