OLC: Attack Disk wrong?
Hi again, I wondered about this:
http://geheimgemein.de/attack.jpg Shouldnt the attack disk be aligned in a way that my actual course 311 is at the bottom? (And I was not turning). At least that's how I understood it or did I get something wrong? |
Holy cow! I've never seen that thing! Is that a mod?
edit: thanks for the link below. |
Yes, it's the OLC GUI for GWX2.0, see here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=123955

snwcrsh: Alignement of the largest wheel is believed to be most intuitive when the 180 degrees is on the top, as it represents your boat's bow. But this is nothing more than a suggestion how it could be done, in fact you can successfully operate the wiz-wheel keeping your bow indicator in any other direction.
I read in a readme/tutorial (?) that the three wheels in this WizWheel are 'attached' to games gauges/dials, so they are probably not freely movable. The big one is just the compass needle, and it rotates as your true bearing changes... I doubt there is a fast and easy twick for that. :hmm: |
Thank you... I was just wondering because the outer ring will turn when my ship turns. but it's not aligned to my course (311) neither it is aligned to true north, but instead to 48 degrees. Which I cant meke any sense of.
EDIT: Wait. 311+49 is 360. I think I'm getting somewhere. Doh! |
It is correct. Your heading is indicated on the yellow compass ring by the small white triangle on the outer ring. the outer ring represents your ship's heading with a reversed azimuth. the reason it is reversed is because of the way it is used.

@avatar.
the tool is part of the U-jagd tools mod, which OLC incorporated into his excellent OLC_GUI |
