Refitted with Corrientes on 18 September. Moderate success against merchants in DT grids, reached assigned patrol area off Freetown. Please advise other boats in the area of the increase of enemy air patrols around Freetown. Estimate another 18 days to Lorient.

responded wisely each time with a prompt crash dive... it is still early in the war, but i dont mess with planes. i might be able to submerge and evade them... but i cant out run their radios!

i was not detected on any of the occasions i dont think... bombs never hit the sea at all so i dont think they ever detected me. that and it was a pretty uneventful journey home.
