File Descriptions
I am wanting to make a few changes to my SH3 game, but I can't seem to find a good listing of the files and what they are used for. Anyone know where I can locate such information?
|
Not that I am aware of anything like that. A lot of the text file are somewhat self explaining (if you have some programming/computer knowledge), but it takes a lot of experimenting. I would also wish for such a documentation, but myself I have never documented any of my discoveries, so I cant blame anybody ;)

Find out what you want to change and then ask.:yep: It's the easiest way.
|
I think he expected some sort of place where information is collected, in that way it is a fair question.
|
Might I suggest that this is in fact the exact purpose of a wiki. Mayhaps we could start making use of it?
|
Problem is just this is a lot of work so no one has done it. First you'd have to bust the modders balls and then you'd have to maintain the wiki. Would be great if someone did it though.

Most, if not all game discoveries/modifications are here on Subsim. Why go to the bother of a Wiki?
Your information resource is here.;) If you can't find it via the search function, just ask us. Everything you can think of has been covered at least once before. |
Thanks for the quick replies!
I have found the search feature somewhat lacking actually. I would much prefer a bollean search with phrases. It is hard to find something quickly without such options. |
The search features may not be pin point, but!!
It's very easy to miss important information contained in whole threads themselves. I spent months doing nothing but reading old threads start to finish. The thread itself was the information I wanted to know. No single post will contain the whole answer unless versed in all the past posts! For example: Useing P3D, do an export. Open your 3D program and import the cosh. Rotate it on the XZ 90 degrees. Re-Uv map and export it. Re-import to the dat and adjust the X,Y,Z co-ords. Since we moved it we must change the Parent ID also. The sim and zone files must be adjusted to suit also. Follow me? :hmm: |
