Nearly every thread I read is:
It's to hard!
It's to easy!
This is wrong!
That is wrong!
My cat is losing it's hair!
I lost my hair!
Blah, blah, blah!!!
sounds like the Wife jumped on her PMS cycle
and all I hear is
Bitch! bitch, bitch, bitch. Bitch! bitch bitch,bitch bitch.
A little thing I learned a long time ago.
If you ain't happy?

If you mean observations and input or constructive criticism, I suppose that just comes with the turf. I think it comes under the general heading of discussion.

Nope. He's venting. He's earned the right to complain as well. Considering how many complaints he's addressed for users, methinks that users should stand back a bit and let him.

I'm sorry boss, I didn't mean it, just couldn't help myself, please don't beat me!:oops: Then again!:yep::88)

Privateer,

Hey I got an idea; lets do what the movie writers are doing and strike.........then we will see comments like the ones you have mentioned dry up. :hmm:

You should not be criticised for venting; you have not attacked any one person by name and you have not used foul language.

They'll stop or eventually go unanswered, cos come the release of GWX 2.1, we're all leaving to play the damn game we built.

Besides, nearly everything that's being asked or discussed now has been done so before.

It doesn't matter how good you do a job, someone will always say:
"Very good job, however it would have been better if you....."
You can never please everyone no matter how hard you try, what you do for one the other will hate, it's just human nature, cruel as it is!:-? But for every one that complains you always get those who really appreciate it, just that they don't always post, the complainers do, just have to ignore it!
I appreciate your hard work as well as all modders who generally, selflessly, try to please the community as a whole!:yep:

I can understand that you guys need to let off steam now and again. Sometimes the tone used in this forum can sound a little harsh. I do not contribute in the least to the creation of mods. I would not know where to start. But I enjoy them! That's why I appreciate the work you guys do.
I have also noticed that some of the mods that are not as good as the others, also get polite praise from from the guys that make the supermods. This is positive. It encourages creativity.
I have also noticed that there are many who complain that they cannot work things out because they simply haven't looked at the read me or manual or thread or whatever. That must be irritating for you guys that have used time and energy on writing manuals etc. 100% free, gratis, and for nothing!
Let's remember that whatever is produced is a gift.....take it or leave it. If you don't like it don't use it. But whatever, a lot of time and energy has gone into this their creation.
Keep up the good work. Fire a few shots over the bow if you need to!

This would have to be one of the best return reply posts I've seen thus far since my time here at SS.

There are a few key elements in your post limkol that I would like to highlight even further;

for example;

My Elite Flecktarn Camouflage U-Boat Uniform took me approximately 7 solid days to create and when I mean solid......I mean solid; starting at about 0930hr in the morning and dragging my sorry arse to bed at about 2300hr for seven days straight.

I have seen a thread that talked about how long it was taking to load the game up [in some case 20 minutes] my PC takes it to about 15-18 minutes;

Take the Flecktarn Camouflage helmet; I had to load the game 8 times each time adjusting tone, angles, bigger patterns & smaller patterns just to get the perfect end product........that's just the helmet.........now you have the outer shirt, jacket, cap, under shirt, rain coat, rain hat, officer cap, etc etc

All those items had to be adjusted time and time again...........loading and reloading the game & missions.

I have members who continually comment on all my mods good or bad but they comment. I think I'm one of the lucky modders because I haven't experienced too many that try to derail my mod.

I haven't got a glass chin and I don't flinch when it comes to constructive criticism if a member sees a problem/fault with my mod and gives me ways to fix it, or better ideas, then I'm more then happy to listen to their advice and make the mod better. I did this with the Elite Uniform eagle as an example and I thank the members involved that helped me make the uniform just that little bit better.

I'm very lucky that my wife and two daughters understand that this is their husband and daddy's hobby [think my wife is just grateful that my hobby isn't down the local pub getting pissed with my mates all the time] so I'm able to spend very long periods of time on modding projects for you.

Regardless if your a modder who produces large campaign mods [GWX Team] or a small independent modder [me] comments should be given to each and ever modder regardless on how good or bad the mod.

I'll just end this by saying in the last couple of months this forum has lost to great members, and its not until will loose them that we truly understand just how much they made the game and this forum what it is today......appreciate each others company because who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Ven

What really makes me laff is when I get a PM saying "Please make me a version of your mod with the following changes. You don't have to release it to everyone if you don't want to - you can send it just to me, that's OK.
[list of changes]

Thanks!"

:roll:

Agreed Ven,

It's a very good assessment of the issues at hand.:yep:

Now, why are you loading the game so much?

You still have DeepX, yes? Just extract the model and view your changes in there.:rotfl:

Seriously, I'd go mad if I had to load the game after each change to a graphic file.

Oh, and are you loading the full campaign? Use blank campaign files, the game will load in mins.;)
