GWX. It works now.

Although loading times of ten minutes seem the standard now (it was a :damn:mare before I turned off harbor traffic extravaganza), GWX 2.0... works.
Some mods may not be installed, and I may have wanted for there to be a much, much, much smaller version of it, it works. But seriously, to load 1.4 vanilla takes two minutes - there SHOULD be some GWX Light!

I originally intended to write about my wonderful third experience (first was lagged out, second was crash :D) - where I patrolled AN95. The beautiful island of Helgoland lay in the dusk, neatly on the fog so you couldn't see where land met land.

We sailed westwards, and by nightfall we had performed all the procedures needed. Emergency dive, double knuckles to port, silent running... The crew were well exercised, and I had made sure to get a good engine officer. He was also well qualified for other duties. The only thing that could need improvement are the sonarmen, but in his defense, he did pick up a schooner from some twenty kilometers.

By sunrise we had moved to live firing exercises, and these went well, but wowah! The guns sure move on the deck! After a bit of firing from both 8.8cm and the 2cm, we shot a few torpedoes before heading home. Hopefully October will see Jakob von Presseun's U-31 on the frontlines, winning the war for Germany!
