Fuel problems
Greetings,
I was well into my second patrol off the Western approaches and a check with my Nav told me I had 9360kms duration at my present speed, which by trial and error on my boat is 7kts. Shortly after, about an hour, I had to dive to attack a convoy and when I surfaced an hour or so later my Nav told me I had 936kms duration! In addition my fuel indicator was at zero. As I had insufficient fuel to get back to base, I had tried to run submerged and surfaced stationary to recharge batts, but on my 3rd or 4th surface I couldn't clear the carbon monoxide guage. I had to ditch the patrol and go back to a previous save where I noticed that my fuel was again at zero. Back to an even earlier save got me the same result. I don'tknow what might be happening here. Any ideas? I did finish the patrol from an earlier save but lost a Southampton CL that I'd bagged. |
What version are you playing? What was your departure point? Do you have SH Commander installed? What other mods?

Fuel problems
I'm playing GWX 2.0 with Captain America's Icons and 16km atmosphere mods installed. Not using SH Commander.

Forgot to add out of Wilhemshafen

Sounds absolutely freakish to me.
Need to know what boat you are sailing. Also need to know if you've taken depth charge damage. |
SH3 Commander.....sabotage and malfunctions (not that I use the s and m myself) :hmm:
|
I'm in a VIIb and though I was D/Cd I did not have any reported damage. Strange.
|
well personally i'd suggest you upgrade to the VIIC anyway, the VIIB in general is not a very... lets say... reliable boat....:damn:
if that doesnt solve your problem... again... someone with more brains will eventually show up |
I don't have an answer to how you may have lost all your fuel. However, in such a situation you could have tried to use the 'Return to Base' option instead of losing your patrol tonnage. If i remember correctly (at least in stock SH3 - have never tried it in GWX) you can use the Return to Base even if out of fuel.
BTW, I believe the optimum speed for your type VII is 9-10 knots (perhaps varies upwards slightly with Engine upgrades). Set it manualy and check with the navigator and use the speed which gives you the most distance. 7 is surely not optimum for Type VII. |
