Set Commands
Hello all,
While examining command_en.cfg using SetKeys, I ran across several interesting commands: Set course Set Rudder Set Depth Set Speed Set Throttle etc. There are no keys associated with these commands - just Ctxt 1 (context 1). I am guessing that these commands allow input of specific numerical values to set those parameters - for instance Set Course would allow the user to input a 3 digit number between 000 and 360 and the course would be set to that value. But so far, I have been unable to set a key command to do that using SetKeys and have ti produce that type of behavior in game. Has anyone been able to confirm that these "Set XXXX" commands work in that way? Has anyone been able to use SetKeys to enable the kind of behavior I described above? If so, how did you program the key commands using SetKeys and how do you input the desired values in game? If so, this could result in a significant improvement in the use of voice recognition technology for SHIII (at least for me). Thanks in advance. R/ Tomcattwo |
Tomcattwo?
This town ain't big'nough for both of us:arrgh!:  |
These were originally tabled for inclusion in SH3 but were never completed.
I think Mr.Axe paid the SH3 devs a visit a little too early. It's a shame really because when you look deeper into the files, you notice some of the really cool stuff that could have been added but wasn't. |
Thanks for the Reply
Thank you for the reply, Danlisa. That is quite unfortunate. That would have been the "easy" way to insert commands to generate exact course/speed/depth commands, particularly using voice recognition software. I'll have to search around a bit to see if there is another way to skin the cat.

Same question again. :D
Some people say on the Forum, that IT IS possible ("easily") to assign a certain speed or depth to a key shortcut. If not by SetKeys, then how? Could you please share the know-how? :ping: |
Uh, I'd be interested in that too. I'm looking for it since I started playing and couldn't get it to work with SetKeys. Setting a specific course as per hotkey would indeed be very useful, especially for me who likes to avoid the mouse as much as possible..
