Repairing Hull Damge Holes

In my 11 careers of patrols i thought once you took hull damage and there were visible 'holes' on the subs exterior that those were not repaired. i typically took it easy after visually seeing them and usually returned to port a little earlier than normal if i had a swiss cheese boat.

but the other day i got a good pounding by a few persistent DDs and my hull damage was around 45% along with a boat that had lots of holes in it. with 3 torps left i packed it up for pearl. TC'd the whole way home, then sailing into the port i took a few looks around and there were no more holes in the boat?!

i thought this may have been a fluke with a save game issue, or due to TC? but i didnt think our holes were ever repaired at sea.

what is your experience with this?

that's weird, I never saw any of my holes fixed when out on patrol

Probably a glitch. I understand if you save after damage shows, it will be gone on the next reload. In all reality, with holes as big as the Holland Tunnel, you would not be making it home:oops:

Did you press rearm/refuel when you arrived at port?
