The Japs have taken Darwin
I was just on my way back from a successful cruise, when I dropped into Darwin in mid '42 for a fuel refill, so I could make it down to Perth in my S-18 class Sub.
So having a look around the world it looks like the Japs have been successful in invading Darwin. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...takeDarwin.jpg Manning the AA gun http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...akeDarwin2.jpg Full complement of crew And while looking around I spoted this gun crew. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...estingshot.jpg Matching Spades on Helmets |
but the flags are not japanese.

Not sure what your getting at, I think those flags are Aust naval or maritime, so those ships should be flying them in Darwin at that time

I think Steve was smoking those funny cigarettes again.:88)

Nah no wacky stuff, just noticed that even though the ships fly aussie flags the crew are all japanese.:rotfl:
|
Ok, Stevie I KNOW you're smoking de ganja.:hmm:
I can't tell from your pics that they're Japanese. How can you tell the difference? They wear Allied uniforms. Unless they're trying what the Germans did during the Ardennes Offensive. Dress up like US soldiers and confuse everyone. If that's the case ask one of them who is the world cricket Champs for 1941.:rotfl: |
This point of 3D faces looking japanese has come up many times in several threads. By nature humans are very sensitive to facial features. However, within the limited resources of a $45 game, the low rez images likely shared for many of the multi-national crews, features are incidental. It's the uniforms, flags, and ship types which are the determination of nationality.
