SH4 Mods to Use- Advice to a Seaman

I just recently added a few questions for the Subsim vets on suggestions for mods to use with SH3. I only recently restarted playing SH series again, and I would like to ask the similar questions for SH4? I own the original SH1 Commander edition from years ago (Win95 days), so I am just catching up.

What mods or addon’s are most of you adding to SH4 now. I have d/l’d many of them but not installed any additional programs yet pending suggestions from the Subsim crew. I see there are many options, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

For those of you with some extra time available, if you have not read “The Bravest Man: The Story of Richard O’Kane and the US Submarines in the Pacific War by William Tuohy, you might want to read it. I really enjoyed the book, and sparked my interest in sub sims again.

I'm using TM 1.7.4 (Ducimus released a beta patch that updated TM 1.7.2), I'll probably change to 1.7.5 when I finish my current patrol.
ROW - the sim has enough eye candy for me, plus I understand that this mod does affect frame rates, so I'm giving it a miss.

RSRDC - to be enabled later after I've had some experience with the stock campaign.

Thanks for the input gentleman. I will look to upgrade my stock SH4 with TM1.7.5, and then maybe followup with RSRD. Thanks for the perspective.
