With that Peri mod, the images enclosed with the mod (you get to pick the one you want from about four) show the scope looking like this: http://members.cox.net/doolittle80/N...4v%20v2.jpg%20 However, I am still showing this Scope in SH4......which I think is the periscope from the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes" Mod...the key file in the data\menu\\gui\layout folder seems to be "betterscopes_attack.dds" : http://members.cox.net/doolittle80/Scope2.jpg However, you'll see below that I have the 2RTR scope mod enabled after the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes"...the key file in the "2RTR" MOD data\menu\\gui\layout folder seems to be "Periscope_Mask_1024vs2.dds" http://members.cox.net/doolittle80/JSGME.jpg I'm not sure why the 2RTR scope is not 'replacing' the "SCAF etc btrScopes" periscope.... Any ideas? |
The scope you are looking for is a great mod and I would like to use it also. Problem is it was made pre 1.4 patch. I believe 1.4 did some changes to the standard resolution thus making this mod useless. Perhaps one of the modders here can take a look at it.

Okay...I solved part my problem....I'll leave my earlier post as is, though...because it raises some related questions.
I disenabled the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes" MOD, then I renamed the 2RTR periscope of my choosing as "Periscope_Mask_1024.dds" Thus when the 2RTR Mod is enabled, it correctly ovewrites the SH4 default periscope. However, if enable the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes" Mod either before or after the 2RTR MOD, I lose the 2rtr scope. Any ideas? |
I'm lost when it comes to this. I betting Digital Trucker can figure it out. He is darn good at that sort of thing. I suspect with the holidays he is busy. When he is around I will ask him to sort it out.

The problem is going to be in the 1024_768 pull your freakin' hair out file :rotfl: . Looks like one of the mods is using a non-standard name for a graphic element and changing the freak-out file to point to it instead of the standard nomenclatured one.
I'm guessing that what you want is for the 2RTR scope to replace the "SCAF etc btrScopes" periscope, correct? If that is the case, then what we need to do is figure out what periscope graphic file the SCAF mod is pointing to and replace that file with the graphic of your choice from the 2RTR mod. Alternatively, we could change the 1024_768 pull your freakin' hair out file back to point to the original file name (better to stay away from that if possible). So, if we take the first option, you'd end up with just one mod to install after you replace the file in question. I think, I must have overdone my medication for the day, because now I've confused myself:hmm: , but I hope you understand what I tried to say. I'll grab the mods in question and take a look and see what I can mess up, errrrrr, ahhhh, I mean come up with. |
Okay...I solved my problem:
In the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes" MOD, I replaced the "betterscopes_attack.dds" file with the 2RTR periscope file of my choosing (Periscope_Mask_1024.dds) which I simply renamed as "betterscopes_attack.dds". Then I enabled just the "SCAF1.1 _w_Nomo_Chrono_btrScopes" Mod, and I now have that Mod's features but with the 2RTR scope!....just the way I wanted it! I don't have to enable the 2rtr MOD itself, at all. Maybe I should become a MODer??? |

Now, make a file at file front so I can get it! I'm an idiot when it comes to switching files.
