Question about radio messages ...
IS it possible to receive radio messages while submerged ...
I've noticed that I receive alot of radio messages while I'm submerged and I didn't think that was possible ... I was always under the impression that you had to be surfaced to receive anything ... Thanks |
Oddly it may surprise you to learn that the Germans had developed an
effective ELF system. It was found that Extreme Low Frequency radio waves (approx 28000 metres in this case ) were able to penetrate the upper layers of the ocean. the antennae was sighted at magdeburg. If equipped with appropriate recievers uboats could while the transmitter was working. recieve radio transmissions down to about 50 ft. M |
ODDLY ...
It did surprise me ... :o So I take it then that it was avalible in '39 ? Thanks for the reply  |
honestly although ive been able to establish some details of the project
and its existence I remain uncertain of its incept date.:hmm: |
Thanks Mush Martin ...
