Help needed! the game dont start after patch v1.4
 

Hello to everyone

First i have reformat my hardrive and reinstall SHIII (US-DVD) bough two year ago. Before patching to v.1.4 (US-DVD) i run the game and everything goes perfectly well. It is just after i patch to the latest version that the game won't start anymore:nope:. I try the solution proposed by StarForce you know the utility "FrontLine Drivers Update Tool" it did not work ether so i want here at the forum and try everything from post related for patching problem (install, reinstall, deleting the files in "my document", defrag, deleting only SHIII regedit file and so on...) nothing work i have always the same problem the game won't start after patching:damn: . And before you ask me i have all the lates drivers install (driver for DVD-RW, graphic card and motherboard...) and it is not a problem whit my SHIII dvd because before my reformat i was able to play the game with GWX v1.03.

Ho i and almost forgot i run on win xp my pc is an Intel-Pentium 4 3.2 ghz, i have 2 gig of ram and my graphique card is Geforce 7900 GT/GTO.

So if anyone of you have not in answer for my problem i'm thinking maybe i have to purchase a download version of the game. so What do you think of this solution and what will be the best site to purchase it?

Rogue SH3 files can get stuck here and create a similiar prob to what your saying especially if doing alot of uninstalling reinstalling for some reason this install temp file dosnt always delete the TEMP install files etc

After a windows upgrade just this week gave me this prob

C:\DOCUME~1\Your comp name\LOCALS~1\TEMP\ etc etc

scope it out you never know

Theres a dozen posts with these probs so do a search theres no one all fix solution

Have you completely uninstalled everything first?
then reinstalled from zero?

Yes i have done that because after i format my hardrive it was the first game i install. So clean install, run the game every thing alright and after install the patch 1.4= the game won't start enymore !!! Mystery...:hmm:

Perhaps you should download a fresh 1.4 patch?

I can only suggest you insert your game disc and perform an 'uninstall' operation before attempting to reinstall everything :hmm:
Also, ensure you have d/l the correct patch (there are four) from here:

Yes i perform a uninstall with my game in my DVD-RW and yes i'm sure i have the good patch because my game was bought in a ebgame in canada (Québec) so the patch is really the one i use (US-DVD 1.4)

So what happens when you try to run the game after you have patched it?

Any error message? Anything at all? Was there any error message when you patched the game? Is the game already patched from when you bought it?

After fully uninstalling, reboot, re-installing, reboot & then patching, did you reboot the PC?

Ok Danlisa, i try exactely what you propose to me " After fully uninstalling ...etc." and here the message i received:

when i run the game :firt: " Systeme de protection" = protection system
" Verification du disque" = Disc verification
Second: Erreur de lecture pendant l'identification du disque,
Verifiez que le disque original soit présent dans le
lecteur et qu'il ne soit pas endommagé.

Translation: Error while identification of the disc, Check that you have the original disc in the reader and check that is not damage.

So yes i have the original disc and no it is not damage.
It's always the same message and it's from this damn StarForce protection systeme. This protection systeme is a real nightmare:damn:

Use the tool to remove the Starforce drivers, the use Google to find a way to run the game without the DVD.

I download and try this "so-call" removing tool from StarForce; absolutely useless it done nothing at all. :down:

No offence to you Jimbona but this tool is a real joke!

The tool doesn't work if you restart the game with the disk still in the PC.

StarForce is always reinstalled everytime you load from the disc.;)
