Vista is the main reason i have not brought myself a laptop yet. As all the one's i see only come with vista. Though i need one before i deploy to Iraq next year or i will be board out of my brain.

I'm pretty sure you can buy a Dell notebook without Vista and opt for XP in stead. My sister did that about six months ago.

I been working on these for years and you might have a look at apples laptops...they are really sweet and dependable.

-yes I own an I-POD. Pitty the battery is gone and I can't replace it without destroying the thing. :down:

I doubt you hate Apple more than I hate Apple! :D Mac is an act in frustration. It might do what you want, but that is only after you comform to its idea of what it wants!

SP3 is supposed to be very good but I suggest you do your research first.

From what I am reading SP3 is not out to the general public just yet. You must be part of MSDN or somthing.

Why does it have to? They wiped of OSX, and put Vista solely on the system. It did pretty well, running purely Vista!

I dont know how you got the RC but it did come out on their download servers. They are warning people so I HIGHLY doubt it automatically downloaded.
