I figured out how to increase time acceleration
Hi everyone. The really slow acceleration times were driving me crazy on the longer missions. So I figured out how to increase time acceleration in Dangerous Waters. Woohoo! :yep: Just open your dangerouswaters.ini file and change the following to whatever equal number you like (in yellow text below):
[Cheats] .QuickLaunch No .QuickAircraftLaunch No .QuickRepair No .SubComms No .ReplenishStations No .SurfAutoEngageAir Yes .AirAutoEngageAir Yes .SurfAutoIDAir Yes .EngageDoctrine No .AllowAAMTargeting No .SalvoWarheadMethod Yes .SpeedOrdersPersist No .ShowTheDead Yes .SalvoLimit 8 .FiringAltExcess 250 .MinAirAttackRng 1250 .MinHeloAttackRng 1000 .SalvoMissilesPerPointIncrement 2 .SalvoPointIncrement 250 .MapScrollSpeed 0 .MapZoomLevel 1 .ShowTruth No .ShowAllied No .EnableTips Yes .SaveReplay No .MaxTimeScale 32 .EventUpdateLimit 100 .ShowLink Yes .EnableWind No Default max time acceleration was set at 16x. *edit* Don't go too high with a max compression setting. 32x max setting is the limit without lock-ups in my playtesting. Game locks up at higher numbers above 32x on my computer (fairly fast), especially when dragging the map around. |

Very cool! I haven't been playing DW lately and it's mostly because of the time compression. Looks like I'll be taking my 688i out for a spin this morning. Thanks for the tip.

I have successfully played with no lock-ups with MaxTimeScale set to 64 (original value being 16). :arrgh!:

Time acceleration
Be careful if you want to play with RA addon, their recommendation is to limit time scale to maximum 8.

You also must take into account that such value may not be achievable. With many ships in the mission, even 16 may not be 16 in reality. Just try to measure how much time game minute took.
