GWX 2.0 question ... failed tests ?
 

First I would like to say THANKS to the guys that put this fantastic mod together ... makes SH III so much more emmersive and second to say hi to all as I'm a NOOB here ...

My question is ... I D/L's the new 2.0 mod and ran the installer and it ran a test to see if my system could handle it ... this is what I got as a result of that test ...

DEBUG: Test 1 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 2 PASSED Version is 1.4.0.1
DEBUG: Test 3 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 4 FAILED Size is 7974981
DEBUG: Test 5 FAILED Size is 70497
DEBUG: Test 6 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 1134792
At least one of the tests failed

What do the failed tests mean ...

Hey mate. Welcome to SubSim!

Do you have a fresh install of SHIII, patched to 1.4b? The installer only installs over a clean 1.4b patched copy of SHIII. :up:

I have Silent Hunter III with current patch and the GWX version 1.3 installed ...


GWX version 2.0 installed fine over that or appeared to ... I just have no idea what those failed tests are or what they might mean ... I'm sure it's something but is it major ?

I've run a couple of the single missions so far and all looks and plays good ...

If anyone knows please help a NOOB out !

Errrr not good, you have to uninstall and delete SH3 from your system completely. GWX 2.0 is only meant to be installed over a clean version of SH3 patched to version 1.4 I'd zap it and reinstall it all if I were you, sorry.

What the game is trying to do is confirm the conditions
of a clean install prior to proceeding

ie. is version number correct ............yes
is file so and so the right size .......no

IIRC I showed something similar because I ended
up installing twice.
no problems that ive found

Exactly. GWX 2.0 is a standalone release, not an update. :up:

I did a complete re-install patched current then added the new GWX 2.0 and all is right with the world :sunny:

The planes look fantastic, the fuel leaks on the ships are awesome!:smug:

I noticed those huge waves in some of the bad weather conditions that make you dive as you cannot drive the boat on the surface are impressive.

GWX 2.0 is simply the best MOD out there:yep: :know:

It gives a DAS BOOT feel to SH3! :arrgh!:
