SIlent hunter 3 wont patch
 

Well i have to reinstall silent hunter 3 for gwx 2.0, so now i have the a problem, whenever i try to patch freshly downloaded via D2D silent hunter i get this error while its version checking.

This program cannot update the installed version of Silent hunter III US Download v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reasons.

c:\my silent hunter directory\data\menu\de_menu.txt: unkown version

So i cant patch silent hunter now. I have tried redownloading it, i have reinstalled it multipal times, i have redownloaded the patch from dif mirrors so what do i do?

Delete the de_menu.txt
Then try patching

Have you tried loading SH3 unpatched and looked for the version number? Maybe it's already patched?

How and where exactly can you see what version someone is running of the game Silent Hunter 3? I would like to patch mine from version 1.00 to 1.4b but I can't seem to find the version number located anywhere inside the game. Any hints would be appreciated.

I think if you go to your SH3 game folder, find the SH3.exe file, and right-click on it and open its Properties, you should be able to see which version it is there. Mine (under the Details tab) says File Version 1.4.0.1 and Product Version 1, 4, 0 1 - I assume that refers to the fully patched v1.4 which is what I have.

If your copy of SH3 is a more recent purchase (whether disk or download), it may already be v1.4; I downloaded mine direct from Ubi over a year ago and it came fully patched to the latest version.
